Let me introduce myself, my name is Maureen A. McKinley and I am a member of the Rotary Club of Las Vegas Central, Nevada, USA. I have worked on the Rotary Rose Float for over 12 years and am thrilled and honored to have been elected Chair of this fabulous promotional event for Rotary. I invite all members of the Rotary Family to help me and the Rotary Rose Parade Float Committee (Committee) support the Float and to spread the word about Rotary and shout to the world RI President- Elect D.K. Lee’s theme “Make Dreams Real.”

The Committee’s 29th consecutive entry into the 2009 Tournament of Roses Parade celebrates the work of Rotarians world wide. The theme of the 120th Parade is “Hats off to Entertainment” and the theme of the Float is “Make Dreams Real”. It is the present intention of the Committee to have riders on the float representing either Interact, the Youth Student Exchange Program or the 20th Anniversary of Women in Rotary. The Committee is also considering using out walkers (individuals who walk the 5 ½ mile route with the float) and will update this website when these decisions are made and finalized.
Last year, more than 1100 Rotarians and their families, Rotaractors, Interactors, Ambassadorial Scholars, GSE alumni and current teams, and Youth Study Exchange students from all over the world volunteered their time and effort to help decorate the float. These Rotarians worked countless hours preparing and applying flowers, seeds, dried petals, and greenery on every square inch of the float. But volunteer efforts are not enough; we need your financial support! We ask for your donation of $3.00* (or more) per member to help us show the world that we truly are dedicated to and believe that we can “Make Dreams Real." Thank you in advance for your contribution to your 2009 float.

Since this is not a project of Rotary International, no Rotary International funds are used to help build the Float.

The Rotary Rose Parade Float Committee thanks you in advance for your contributions, participation and continued support in our efforts to promote Rotary and to show the world our passion for Rotary and Rotary’s passion for helping the world.

For more information about the 2008 Rotary Rose Parade Float, please visit our website. Decorating Volunteer Sign-up begins July 15, 2008 on that website.

* $3.00+ is requested as although all USA/Canadian Districts are represented by at least one club, unfortunately not all clubs donate.
