Rotary Rose Parade Float Committee, Inc.
P.O. Box 92502, Pasadena, CA 91109-2502

August, 2006

Dear  Rotary Club President,

Congratulations! You are starting the most exciting year of your Rotary life as president of your Rotary Club.

On behalf of the Rotary Rose Parade Float Committee and as this years Chairman I would like to wish you well during the coming year.  I also wish to thank you and your Club for any support you have given us in the past.

We would like your assistance in supporting a major Rotary public relations project to tell the world about the Rotary family and its service to the world family.

For the 27th consecutive year, your Rotary Rose Parade Float Committee is entering a float in the annual Tournament of Roses Parade on January 1, 2007 in Pasadena, California.  The Rose Parade theme is “Our Good Nature”.  Our float theme will be the same as International President Bill Boyd’s theme “Lead the Way”!  Over a million people view the Rose Parade in person while approximately 400 million television viewers worldwide see the float and hear the story of Rotary.  This float will represent all Rotarians and include Eight Rotary International Youth Exchange Students from around the world, emphasizing that Rotary is truly an international organization.

Our success is dependent upon the generous support of Rotarians in the United States and Canada.  Rotary President Bill Boyd and Rotary International endorse the Rotary Rose Parade Float, but it is your contribution that makes it happen.

You can help by making a club contribution in the amount of $3.00 per member.  This can be done either by having a club budget item or a special assessment of the members.  Or, you can “pass the hat” at a club meeting!

Enclosed is a brochure describing the 2007 Rotary Rose Parade Float.  The brochure includes a description of our 2007 Float along with a message from President Bill Boyd endorsing the project.  The brochure includes a form to use in forwarding your club’s contribution to the float. This year we also included is a nine minute DVD presentation about the float. You can obtain more information about the float at our web site, www.rotaryfloat.org . Also, please fell free to contact me as well for additional information.

In the event you have already made a donation through your district, we thank you for that support.

Thank you in advance for your kind assistance.

Yours in Rotary,

Ernie Jensen, PDG District 5300 1996-97
Chairman
Rotary Rose Parade Float Committee
